The Iron Lady is a biopic based on the life of England’s first and only female Prime Minister. It features Margaret Thatcher mainly in her last years and flashes back to prominent times in her life.
This film is overshadowed by the magnificent performance by Meryl Streep in the title role (Hello Oscar!), which I find on one hand amazing to watch and entertained, but on the other hand slightly annoying because a film should be more than just a fantastic performance. I was thinking through the film and after how amazing Meryl was and is, not about Margaret Thatcher herself. Still a very good film, especially for people present when she was in power, and I particularly enjoyed flashbacks to her younger self. I would definitely marry her husband right now…
